Hi everyone,

I´m hoping some Paul fans on here might be able to help me. I´m looking to collect as many recordings as possible from concerts Paul played between 1991 and 1993. I´ve got the "official" recording of Paul Simon´s Concert In The Park (but not the complete version with the reprise of You Can Call Me Al and Dogs in the Wineshop). I´ve also got his Los Angeles Concert from 1991, Uruguay and the Tokyo Dome. From 1992, I have MTV Unplugged and from 1993, one show from the "Concert Event of a Lifetime Tour" (29th October, I think)... but I´m always seeking others that exist.

Thought I´d put a call out there and see if any other fans can help. Do any of you guys have any other shows (it doesn´t matter what quality) from 1991, 1992 or 1993? That would be great if you do.

send me an email address and I´ll write.
The Back To The Ranch concerts were at Paul´s ranch on Montauk, Long Island and started out as a benefit to save a local lighthouse.

Not at Pauls ranch... he has no ranch. :-) The ranch is in Montauk.

You may be right, Bodo, but my impression when I was there for the 1993 show with Paul, The Allman Brothers Band, and Mary Chapin Carpenter was that Paul owned the place. I realize he didn´t live there but I think he owned it.

I can not be sure for 100%,but on this page it is written that Diane and Gardner Leaver own the ranch...and they are ranchers in 5th generation (her father born in one of the houses)... so I do not think Paul once owned this ranch.

I guess Paul must be a close friend of those local people, so for those concerts the place was like his home.

You are right Bodo. Paul never owned the ranch, he is a friend and neighbour of the Leavers. At page 3 of the article you can read how Gardner -Rusty- Leaver asked Paul to perform a concert on Deep Hollow to raise money, it became such a success that the concerts were held several years in a row till 1996. But the Leavers sold the Ranch now according to this article. http://easthampton.patch.com/articles/montauks-dee

At http://www.paul-simon.fr/ you can find the programs of the concerts Back at the Ranch.

The setlist rarely changed, so I´m not sure why you would want multiple concerts. There is one on Dime where he did Duncan instead of America. Toward the end of the tour, he inserted MRs Robinson in place of Cecilia and added Gone at Last.

Also, the setlist archive here says that he also did Homeward Bound and American Tune early int eh concert, but I´ve never heard a recording of those.

Yes it is useless to collect ALL of these shows....

most of them even have a very bad sound quality, so that Nobody ever will listen to them.
