we are all happy about the new album, but the sad is there is a large possiblety this would be the last album, not the last songs but the last complete album, it take Paul 5-6 years to do a album, how long is he going to have the intressting idea and joy to do music you never know.

Humm...Nobody knows for sure. He has good gene from his family, so he could be among us for a little while.

Maybe two more albums ? ´God only knows, God makes his plans, the information in unavailable to the mortal man´.

Back in 1993-4 on the BBC radio series on his career he is on record saying he thought his career as a live performer was finished, that he didn´t want to do it anymore.

I remember being very sad about that.
So for me every new CD and concert tour after that time has been a bonus for me - 1999,2000,2002,2003,2006,2008,2009.

I really don´t understand any negativity about the prospect of a new CD or concerts. It should be appreciated on it´s own merits and not in the context of the past or whatever may happen in the future.

I do not think Paul will ever stop making music, nor will he stop giving concerts.
It could be that he stops touring, but he is in excellent shape, I can not remember that Paul was ever ill or in serious troubles (alcohol, drugs), I think he is an excellent shape for beeing around 70 years. As long as he has fun, he might be giving concerts till his mid 80´s

Well, the last time I say Miriam Makeba for example, she was 72 years Old (2004) - and she was really old. She had a young face, but she told us 4-5 times during that show how old she is, that she can not sing that long and so on. Well, the concert only lasted about 70 or 75 minutes, and she made a pause during that show.

Paul can still play 2 hours without starting to swet.

But I am not sure if AG will recover.

BTW: Gerard, I also have read in 1998 an interview with Paul, where he said he will never tour. Strange time, he was only 56 years then, but a little bit tired I guess.

Paul said already in the 1960´s that he would stop touring. He always says one thing and the next thing you know he changes he´s opinion. Think, what a great song title: "Changing Opinion" ;-)

I have attended leonard cohen concerts three years in a row, each one as good as the previous one (although this years would be hard to beat on location). Cohen has just turned 76 and he´s still rockin´ . Gives Paul plenty of time.

PS happened to be staying in the same hotel as LC in Sligo, who joined us for breakfast on the last day. If only it had have been Paul Simon! Ah well we´ll dream on.

I just do not understand how a guy like Garfunkel has not stopped smoking before. I mean his entire reputation as an artist rely on his voice !

I have never smoked, but this thing look quite addidictive !

Anyhow, as human being, we can´t wish the baddest for another person, but in Artie´s case, I feel that he does not have put the chances on his side. Too bad.

Well the same room, we queued up for baked beans together. His people had booked the entire hotel, a very small one, but we had got in there just before hand so there was less than 10 "ordinary guests" and the rest were LC roadies, so we met also the sublime Webb sisters, and the imcomparable sharon robinson. My brother is the real Leonard Cohen fan - so he was made up. We shared the hotel for three days but only got to meet the main people on the last day. All very pleasant and friendly.

Thats a great little story.

I just Love it that you get to experience them as ordinary people.
Hopefully they didn´t have a bus trip to endure immediately after a breakfast of baked beans.

I was lucky to get to the LC concert in Wellington,NZ on 31 October. It was a fantastic show. Okay, he is not a geat voice, but the songs, band and energy of LC performance live was just stunning.
