 | That was definitely Eddie there behind him. Didn´t see that the first time. By the way,I didn´t mean to imply that waiting outside doorways for autographs is at all a bad thing. I´ve done it myself-even succeeded a few times, though sadly never have been able to get anywhere near Paul. Met John Denver once and spoke about guitar playing. He had the cleanest hair of any human I´ve ever met:-)

 | Wow, Ian do you recall any details from your talk with John Denver? I´m a huge fan and never did get to see him live, as I was too young. I have a ticket stub from when my mom saw him in the 70s though. |

 | That guitar and no doubt others I saw
on E-Bay. And it was noted that a video
came with it to prove the signature. I
doubt if there were any fans there, just out to get some money. |

 | Yes it is on ebay. I hope no one is so stupid and will buy it...
Paul knew exactly what was going on, and you see he was not happy in that situation - what can you do when they film you.
Usually if there are 4-5 fans around, no one has his guitar with him.
From what these guys talk you can already hear that they are not real fans. |

 | in many of the clips I saw of Paul Simon talking after Graceland, people said to him that the musicians had only worked with him to make money. His response was always, first of all, what is wrong with making money? I am sure Paul knows exactly what is going on with these people asking for signatures on instruments, buy I doubt he has as low a view of them as you all seem to. One way or another, they are working to try to earn a living. |

 | Yeah, I look at it this way. At least they´re selling autographs not drugs. And it is an honest living. It´s kinda like telemarketing, telemarketers can be extremely annoying but they are making an honest living. |

 | I remember he said in an interview that "fame is a penalty" Surely it is in a number of ways. At the same time, the only thing worse than being recognized is not being recognized... |
