 | What I have heard is that Paul was in a hurry to finish the Graceland album, and especially the last 2 songs (That Was Your Mother, All Around The World) have been recorded/mixed in short (2-3 days) sessions. |

 | In the dvd about the making of Graceland Paul said that Diamonds was never intended to be on the Graceland Album. The album was to be released in June 1986 and the band and everyone were all there to do a Sat Night Live performance but at the last moment Warners Bros said they preferred to release the album in the fall. He said Diamonds was then just a phrase in his head and he had never intended to make a song of it. but as a result of the delay in the album release he wrote it for the Sat night Live performance. Ray Phiri then goes on to say they recorded it the next day in two takes at the Hit Factory. It was then included in the Graceland album. I believe they recorded it due to the tremendous reaction of the audience to the song on the sat Night performance. Just think if Warners had not wanted to postpone the album release there may have never been a Diamonds song! |

 | S&G should name their tour mentioning one of their best songs ever, a composition by Art Garfunkel(!) from the multi-million selling album "Bookends":
The "Voices of Old people-tour".
It was a main reason for me to buy a tape-recorder, so I could hear this song again and again, which was difficult on the LP, and unfortunately it was never released as a single.
Hope the performers were paid accurately otherwise they should go to court, if possible... |
