 | You´ll probably read it anyway, but it´s half-assed and the prose is plodding. That is all.

 | Hey it´s already $11 at the second
hand bookstores! Sounds like the price
will keep dropping quite quickly. |

 | Now I wonder, I guess someone here has already read the book - are there any new things in it we have never heard about? |

 | I read it. Some things are just plain wrong. Not much that we haven´t heard before. "Simon and Garfunkel A Duel Biography" is a better book imo. |

 | I have never heard of that book. How Old is it? A Duel or Dual Biography:) Who is the author Proof? |

 | A dual (sic) in the sun. : )
I read it years ago, can´t remember much about except that it was better than the new one. The Keith Richards autobiography is very good - maybe Mr. Simon will follow in those footsteps, but that´s a bit hard to imagine for a number of reasons. |

 | Ian, you have run into Proof´s humour ;-)
But such a bio would be interesting. Who wants to read a biography by Paul Simon about how much he cares about Mr. Garfunkel. The media wants to read things like ´I hate all curled guys´

 | I came accross the book by accident last weekend at HMV (Chapters in my region does not carry any...another clue !).
I took a look at the Capeman portion, and for a guy that was saying that he was providing all details surrounding the flop, I found that portion quite thin.
The book was already at 25% discount, and I did not buy it. Looks pretty botched. |

 | But Mog,how can you say that? After all it´s the most in-depth look at the origins, writing, production and controversy surrounding The Capeman ever written!!! :) |

 | Looks like Mr. Eliot is already paying people off to make him look a little better lol http://www.amazon.com/review/R1IG3G3TOHZ6KY/ref=cm _cr_pr_cmt?ie=UTF8&ASIN=0470433639&nodeID= &tag=&linkCode=#wasThisHelpful |

 | Good grief. You´re right Jay. This guy is too eager to praise this book. There´s another reader/reviewer called ´Dr Spot´ who has hit the nail squarely on the head, even mentioning Elliot´s apparent preoccupation with Dylan(in and off itself not a problem, but in a book about Paul Simon, seems odd). Secondhand or not,I won´t be buying this book. |
