All you can think of when you turn 69 is that next time you will be 70.

brrr.
an no one thinks about the new album. Have you realized that we already have October the 13th, and still no one ever heard something about this ´fall´ release?

Usually at least 2-3 months before the release date we should hear something.

I begin to feel that there will not be a new album in 2010 :-(

Once you have your 69th birthday you are in your 70 th Year! Come Nov 5 they will both be able to sit on that Old Park Bench. Would Love to see a photo of that! maybe the album will be released for Christmas Bodo. {hopefully this one}

Happy Birthday Paul. I first ´met´ you when you were a young 40. Where did those 29 years go? Have a great day. Bodo,I still believe we´ll see this New album before the year is out. I´m not basing that on anything but a gut feeling by the way,but I do believe it,I do believe it´s true...

I agree Ian. I may be wrong, but from memory most of his new released have been late in the year before Christmas. Also, based on Paul F´s conversation where he said the album was complete. Better hurry up though

I remember - when I still was reading some music magazines years ago - that there always was a section ´comming soon´, including albums of known artists which will be released in the next 2-3 months. So I believe that this was a good idea to make some advertisement. I am not sure if it is a good idea to release an album without saying anything. Maybe we will even miss the release date...

Has it really become so quiet around Paul? I mean, F&D was a really nice small hit in 2002, but his last release (Questions for the angels) had absolute no echo, no one even realized that there is a new Paul Simon song. I think that is a little bit strange. And I remember this CD booklet (Shining like a national guitar) where they wrote that the next album will be released in spring (that meant spring 2002, and finally we got the album in 2006)
I hope this wont happen this time. What happens if Arts voice finally becomes well, and they decide to do a tour in 2011... I do not think Paul will release a solo album and then go on a S&G tour. He could say: okay, then I release my own album in 2012... yeah, I can think very negative ;-) Better do not join me.

I think Surprise was annonced quite late in 2006. We got confirmation around what...February or March, for a release early May. For YTO, I remember we knew in July for an October release. So, yes, unless a miracle, it does not sound for 2010.

I suspect though we will learn more when Sony/Legacy officially announced Simon´s arrival in their label, which might be very soon given the re-launch of ´The Essential´.
