Nick from Widnes England writes:

My hometown of Widnes has been credited as the town wih the Railway Station where Paul Simon wrote "Homeward Bound". (I know people have disputed this fact so lets not go there).

I would be intrested to know of any other famous locations associated with Paul Simon and Simon and Garfunkel. Maybe other locations in New York and England inspired Paul´s song writing.

Does any one know of any other areas we can associate with Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. I know of at least three locations but need more details.

Locations:

The Great Lawn In Central Park New York
Paul and Art Played as Simon and Garfunkel on September 19th 1981. Also Paul Played there on 19th August 1991 solo.

The Brill Building New York. Where upon the 5th Floor you will find Paul´s Office.

Paul Simon´s childhood house in Queens New Yoork.

Any others let me know via the forum.

Well, there are plenty of places namend in his songs , especially in his early songs (Bleeker Street,...)
You never might be sure if he has been there, or he just took the phrase to fit it into the lyrics.

The harbour of St Cecilia.
Sangre de Christo mountains
Lafayette

But I would say especially in the last 10 years such landmark references are missing more (since YTO)..., or Paul just took the famous name, but wasn´t standing there inspired by the place.

Example: Brooklyn Bridge is mentioned in questions for the angels, but I don´t think he was there when he wrote the song.

Not sure if I understand the thread, but I guess you could have ST Johns University where Paul studied a bit, and COlumbia where Art studied. And I am not going to know the name of the church that Art used in one his albums as a picture
