 | That might be really nice indeed. I hope the evening will be filmed and recorded for commercial release too. I wonder what songs Paul Will choose? I´m guessing the ballad side of things- Still Crazy,Something So Right and Bridge would be the usual suspects. |

 | I did hope it would never happen. Now I am really disappointed... :( But there surely would be some who will enjoy. Over to them! |

 | Aww,come on Andras:-) Actually,30 years ago I would have joined you in your disappointment, because it would have seemed to cheapen what he does. Actually,I felt that way about his first appearance on the Oprah show in 1997,but Paul somehow transcended the schmaltzy aspects of the show and it ended up not too embarrassing at all. I think this performance with the orchestra could work out well if Paul brings his usual honesty to the proceedings. |

 | I really would enjoy to be there!
Especially for the "exquisite gala champagne supper and ball... Elegant ladies (and debonair gentleman) will fill the many reception rooms ...!" (How many rooms has this hotel?)
I´d say: "you don`t feel you could Love me but I feel you could!"
But I prefer:
"If you took all the girls I knew when I was single and brought them all together for one night. I know they`d never match my sweet imagination." - which is good music.

 | I probably won´t be able to go but I sure hope someone records the performance. Sounds like it should be a great new Paul Simon collaboration. |

 | Ah Klausi, I always enjoy your wonderful comments, made me laugh again today.
I was in London the past week, and riding a nightbus I remembered our, let´s call it a meeting at the hotel and my swaying search for the busstation. This time again I had no idea where this bus might deliver me, although it was only 12 at night.
I hope for another Paul Simon concert one day where we could meet.
Cheers

 | I probably also won´t be able to go, I am not willing to go :) Too many honorations and special shows for tie and suit people in Pauls calendar nowadays. He should be thinking about going back to England and play in a few pubs to cool down and enjoy music. |

 | Thank you Bodo! Hope so too! London was great, as was Stuttgart in 2008 meeting Ans and Rosie while you searched for the Rhythm Of The Saints.
To be more serious, the only fruitful collaboration of pop-musicians with an orchestra I know is "Days of future past" by the Moody Blues.
And there were many, Elton John, McCartney etc.
And wasn`t the main point in One-Trick Pony the overproduction of Ace In The Hole with strings etc.?
And who wanted a simpler Bridge Over Troubled Water? |

 | And yet the One-Trick Pony album featured strings on a couple of tracks,as did the Still Crazy, and There Goes Rhymin´ Simon albums. I think Jonah Levin had an issue with strings/horns being used on an up-tempo track such as Ace In The Hole, believing it robbed it of a certain rawness, but when used on a ballad is probably not so out of place. |
