I have noticed in recent years Paul Simon has been showing little snipits of how some of his songs were created. He did the fantastic Classic Albums Documentary "Graceland" with clips of how the songs came about. On youtube and on the bonus dic of his CD "The Esential Paul Simon" we have a clip of Paul showing how he created the garaduate version of "Mrs Robinson." On Youtube we can find other clips showing how he created the guitar parts to some of his songs.
I would Love Paul to sit down and do a full DVD/CD of his playing technique showing us how he plays some of his songs. This would make a fantastic Master Class.
What do the fellow guitar playes in the forum think. Would you be interested in buying a Master Class by Paul Simon. I would be very interested let me know what you all think.

 | Oh heavens yes, yes,YES!! To some,I guess that would seem like a dry, boring way to kill a couple of hours, but I´d find that absolutely enthralling. Most want to discuss lyrics, but with Paul Simon´s work,as with all artists I listen to,it is the music that draws me in first. Whether we´ll ever see a long form dvd made on that specific subject, and with Paul´s input,I couldn´t say,but I´d pay a premium price for something like that. |

 | Absolutely...I have a DVD of Tommy Emmanuel deconstructing some his own songs, which I watch over and over again. A Paul Simon DVD would consume all my leisure time. I know how to play them, but I Love artists discussing their work and I agree with Ian that his lyrics get the lion share of the attention. |

I have seen Tommy Emmanuel from Australia twice he is fantastic made me want to bow down and say I am not worthy. He is a fantastic guitar player.
I also have on VHS "Just Hank" Hank B Marvin of the Shadows talking to an interviewer about his playing and demonstarting quite a bit of technique. This is a well produced programme and includes Hank demoing the songs to backing CDs.
I hope that we get to see a Paul Simon master class soon.

 | Great to hear such praise for Tommy Emmanuel, he is such a down to earth, humble and likeable guy. |

 | Would be very interesting!-
Also to hear more about his songwriting seminar he held at New York in 1969 for quite a while.
Out of it came f.e. Melissa Manchester, who became well known in the seventies. |
