I was just watching a video on "youtube" of a performance in Central Park (1981) There is several seconds of a guitarist in a red shirt, with (should length) long hair. He looks a lot like Al Stewart. Did Al play Central Park with Paul and Art?

No, AL did not play in the 1981 Central Park Concert. The guitarist in the red shirt was David Brown . He was introduced by Paul towards the end of the show.

The funny thing that comes to my mind when I think of David Brown is that at the February 1983 stadium S&G show in Brisbane,Brown came out on stage dressed in knee length ug(sp) boots!! It had been a wicked hot day and the evening was similarly warm and those Eskimo boots were far from necessary. It looked pretty cool though(no pun intended),if a tad peculiar. Just something that stuck in my mind...Excellent guitarist though-his solos on Mrs Robinson and America were loud and awesome!
