Just watching a Peter Gabriel concert on TV. Has anyone seen one of those shows?

At the moment I am not sure what to think about it. It seems as he invests much more time in making a big performance than making music... just at the moment he is driving around witha bicycle on the stage. Well, it is a big show, a circus, and the people seem to Love it. But I am happy that Paul is more interested in music ;)

I agree totally Bodo. I´ve got to say though that during the eighties and nineties,I as a Paul Simon fan used to wish my idol was a little more flamboyant,as I thought I´d be able to introduce more of my friends to his music if his concert videos were a little more enticing visually to the uninitiated listener/viewer. Deep in my heart though, even then actually,I was glad he didn´t glam it up. That would have cheapened what he does. I´m just happy he always employs hot bands and of course writes his excellent songs so that we fans with a heightened taste in music can continue to enjoy it.

LOL !!!

I saw Gabriel live last April.

Unfortunately, I came to realize that it looked like he would be unable to perform like he used to be.

The voice was fragile...at 50%; the guy was now overweight, in standing position, confined to his mike most of the time. It was a Surprise for lots of people who have witnesses lots of his great shows.

His Secret World Tour is the best show I have ever seen. Still amazing 20 years after.

The show you are referring to is ´Growing Up Live´ and I think he overdone it a little. When you spend 5 minutes just to unplug yourself after a tune, it kind of break the rhythm.

yes it was a 2003 show I saw - I forgot to mention that.
Right said, it was a show, not a concert :-)

I was only looking at all those constructions, vehicles, big balls...I can´t name those things - I did not listen to one of the songs, nor can´t I remember one :-)
