I just posted a demo to YouTube of Simon & Garfunkel from the Bridge Over Troubled Water sessions. It´s a very early version of The Only Living Boy In New York.

The final version of Save The Life Of My Child was full of too much extra sounds instruments etc.

This original demo is far superiour shame it had to get the wall of sound treatment.

Thanks for shareing this jem any more please upload soon!!!

I agree, I like the sound of the synthesizer as well, and while the lyrics got polished in the final version, the song never became the hit that it could have been. I´ll try to upload some more demos soon!

I think a lot of this material is from the CD "Village Vanguard," although Paul originally gave BBC Radio One several demos for use on the 1975 marathon radio special "The Simon & Garfunkel Story," hosted by Stuart Grundy. The BBC broadcast included demos of "Only Living Boy," "Bridge," "Duncan," "Paranoia Blues," and "Lover Lover Come Back" which was the melody of "Mother And Child Reunion" and words that ended up in "Was A Sunny Day." The BBC broadcast also included a brief recording of an Art Garfunkel solo version of "Scarborough Fair."
