If they elect Neil Diamond, the next year they might give it to Barry Manilow! Then Paul Anka and on down the list. Ugh!!
McCartney is a great choice. I would have liked it if PS did one of his songs acoustically, as he did for Stevie Wonder and Brian Wilson. Too bad he won´t be performing.
I hope they give it next to Leonard Cohen or even Jackson Browne. Dylan is over-rated, but he will probably get it next.
I don´t think they will give it to performers who are dead because that would hurt the TV ratings. So John Denver (who wouldn´t deserve it anyway), John Lennon, Buddy Holly and Jim Croce are out.
