 | Paul Simon, together with Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello and others will join and honor Paul McCartney at a concert in the White House where Paul McCartney will receive the third Library of Congress Gershwin Award from President Obama.

 | LOL
Now, I wonder a little bit - will this show become boring if the put the same artists on the setlist every year?
It is either Stevie Honoring Paul, Paul honoring Stevie, or Stevie and Paul honoring another Paul... :-)
Next year, Stevie, Paul and Paul honor Elvis Costello. |

 | Nick from Widenes England Writes:
What if they hounor Art Garfunkel next. No doubt Paul Simon will sing his praises might even do another Simon and Garfunkel Tour on the back of the latest awards.

 | Beside the fact that Artie will never be honoured with this award, it would be a huge disappointment if Paul wasn´t there.
Aren´t we all eager to hear how Pauls rearrangement of "bright eyes" would sound ? |

 | Instead of dying the rabbit would have to rearrange his position on nervous breakdowns! |

 | It looks like Paul will not perform at The White House, in other articles he is no longer mentioned to appear at The White House. |

 | The ceremony takes place on June 2nd. The anual benefit dinner for the Children´s health fund is on the same day. If he does not find a way to be on two places at the same time, the other Paul will have to celebrate alone.

 | Nice and good for the more important thing, although I would like to hear a McCartney song done by Paul Simon.
Paul Simon was in the "advisory board" chosen by the Library of Congress of about five or six musicians for both the election of Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney.
This board obviously is not a permanent one (other members were different), so our Paul probably will not be a member for finding the next winner.
So if they elect John Denver or Neil Diamond instead of Brian Wilson or Bob Dylan or Joni Mitchell, you`ll know why.

 | That would be great if they honored
Brian Wilson or John Denver though I
don´t think Denver has that much
work. |

 | Odd that you mention "If they honored...Neil Diamond, you´ll know why" because Paul Simon made a point of mentioning to someone on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame committee that Neil Diamond should be honored by them. |

 | Neil Diamond probably is a nice guy, never heard anything bad about him.
Once he was aked (by Rolling Stone) how he compares himself with Paul Simon, another songwriter from New York and he replied:
"Uuh, Paul Simon is a standard of excellence! He is also a skilled guitar player, which I`m not."
Unfortunately Diamond covered "Red Rubber Ball", the worst Hit Simon ever wrote (in his own opinion).

 | I always thought that Neil Diamond is a very fine songwriter who just tends to produce his songs in a way, that I don´t really like. |

 | I liked the Jazz Singer when it came out with the Movie. My 90yo Dad has Neil Diamond on his iPod shuffle. |
