Thanks,
Jozsef

 | There are a few new books, some in English and some in another language.
In 2003 Roswitha Ebel wrote a German book which covers S&G till the S&G Old Friends Tour in the USA and and paul´s solo career till You´re The One.
A Spanish book written by Javier Mà¡rquez in 2004, covers the same period as the German book.
Javier Mà¡rquez wrote in 2006 a small book which covers Simon´s solo career from the early 50s till the 2006 Surprise album. I don´t know if this one is also in Spanish.
Pete Fornatale wrote Simon And Garfunkel´s Bookends in 2007 which goes mostly about the Love-hate partnership of S&G.
James Bennighof wrote The Words And Music Of Paul Simon in 2007. He is a professor of Music Theory at the University so the book is very technically.

 | thank you Ans-just ordered the Bennighof book used from Amazon-how I wish I knew more langauges than english!
I would like to find a similar type book that reviewed Paul´s live concerts and S&G reunion concerts and the musical changes needed to adapt to changing voices-I read somewhere, that most songs need to be pitched lower for Art´s older voice and I guess this means a lower pitch for Paul also to keep the harmony? |

 | I am by no means an expert on these things, but I believe Paul already pitched the songs lower at his own solo concerts too, so there might not be any change for him. Also Pauls voice changed a little bit in the last 12 years or so, but it is still clear, warm and soft. While Arts voice has been altered by smoking - and sounds like that now.

 | I like the book written by Roswitha Ebel in German.
She did a very careful and time consuming job and quoted most of the important things written in other books.
More informations and less personal opinions than in other books.
The only real missing thing of course is "Surprise" with the knowledge, that Paul Simon wants to be without Garfunkel when recording new material. |

 | Do you think that Paul will ever writte his own biography?
He has so many great and funny storys to tell, and knows so many interesting people. I would Love such a book. All these other biographys do not tell me anything new or special.
But I guess he has not the time to do that, and maybe also knows that such a book would not find a really big audience. (But a ghostwriter could do that in a few days of intensive interviews with Paul...) Anyway, I guess he might lean on his main talents - touring as S&G and writting some songs for the rest of his life.
Can you imagine that a icone like Paul Simon never released his own biography, while forgettable people like Britney Spears or Paris Hilton already did that in their 20´s ?
I guess a Paul Simon book could even bee a humour book, with some biographical input. |
