I thought I had explained in my previous post that when I copy the link it does not work . I get a message that the link does not match any documents. I have spent ages trying to no avail. The video can be accessed by searching :simon and garfunkel kathys song 1993 ´I have posted videos before and have no idea why this one won´t work. If anyone else can do it I would appreciate it.
Thanks for helping me out Helen. I don´t know why it would not copy. I like all the versions of this song, it is really beautiful. loved the photos on it. made me a little homesick. I remember listening a few months back to the one Paul made for Kathy (it was a bootleg) on his tape recorder to send to her . If I can find it I will post it, the sound is not so great but a lovely version. I read somewhere that Paul will not sing this anymore. anyone know why?
Actually, I´d be happy if I didn´t hear any other version of kathy´s song, other than the live version that is on Definitive S&G or Essential S&G. It is so beautiful, just Paul with guitar. Same live recording from S&G Live 1969.

I recently bought the last Paul Simon Songbook in the shop, and found I do Love this version of all these songs, raw and acoustic, with Paul´s great strong vocals.
I think he could have had a great solo career, without S&G. He would have been very reluctant to go back to US at that time, I think.
Except that, reading the liner notes on the CD, Paul did have a bad case of that ´negative voice inside the head´. He seems so insecure about the songs and how he´ll feel about them in the future, it´s a wonder he continued to write such openly personal songs.
