Actually, Paul was asked that question in an interview in 2006. He said he is not "religious" at all and wants no part of anyone telling him where to go to worship, what to wear, or any other various religious customs. Then the interviewer asked him if he believed in God, and he said "yes", but if he is wrong, then it doesn´t much matter as his existence is a "nano - second" in time.

He is not religious, but believes in God ? Weird, I always thought that believing in god(s) was the only reason to be religious in the first place.

I mean, If I would believe in god, I would be religious like hell :o)

But let´s not turn this into a religion thread.

I wonder what Bodo thinks of the whole idea about sending Paul a list with our questions ?

He just doesn´t believe in organized religions. It isn´t the God part he doesn´t like, I think, but what man has done with those beliefs, and the intolerances and violence that man has perpetrated in the name of God.

O.K.....enough of that. I guess it is interesting that we are interested in what he believes.

I have a second question :
What is your motivation for a S&G tour ?

Another thing I wonder (although I wouldn´t dare to really ask Paul this question):

When was the last time you smoked a joint ?

I know that Paul does not smoke anymore (officially) but I can imagine that the following dialogue took place backstage on the Old-friends tour:

Art: Psst, Paul, look what I have.... what do you think, should we light it up ?

Paul: Comon, Artie, you´re still in to that stuff ?

Art: Yeah, comon Paul, let´s remember the good old times and smoke this thing !

Paul: Ah what the heck, it will probably help me to enjoy playing "El Condor Pasa" again...

:o)

I´ve got some questions that have been bugging me. May not be popular questions.

Lyrics 1964-2008 begins with ´Wednesday Morning 3am´ album. Side of a Hill was on PS Songbook, and popped up again in Scarborough Fair/Canticle. All other songs on PS Songbook were recorded again as S&G so are included in the book. Scarborough fair/Canticle was not included. Was it conscious decision to not include ´The Side of a Hill´ lyrics? (Pity Scarborough Fair/Canticle not documented in the book )
Also why don´t they sing the canticle in live performances?

Bruce woodley (from the Australian folk group The Seekers) claims to have co-written Red Rubber Ball and Cloudy and ´I wish you could be here´ which Paul hasn´t credited. What was Bruce´s contribution to writing these songs.

My questions would be; what is your favourite guitar?
And do you play any other instruments?

I notice paulsimon.com has a comments/suggestions tab so I was hoping to submit a suggestion. The comments page has nothing on it. If you log in the comments/suggestions tab disappears so you can´t submit a comment.

Anyway my suggestion was going to be to have a ´frequently asked questions´ page for people to submit questions and view the FAQ on the site, as Yusuf has on his official site.

They should remove the comments/suggestions tab if it´s not possible to submit a suggestion or comment.

Actually some pages have the tab and some don´t. When you are logged in and click the tab you get a page that says access denied.

I think one of my questions would be: "Did you ever get that scrapbook of birthday greetings we compiled for your 65th birthday, full of wishes from fans across the world?" And, if so, "What did you think of it?"
--- Other than that: "What would you think of attending a very casual get-together of normal folks, not ooglers or stalkers, who just think you´re a normal guy and would like to get to know you better... and you may find us interesting too? Do you ever miss the comraderie of everyday non-showbiz friends that you don´t get to know because of the burden of fame?"
