 | Hi all, I´ve recently discovered Johnny Cash (well, better late than never...) and bought the 4th and 5th part of the "American Recordings" for a start. As you know, Cash did an awesome version of "Bridge Over Troubled Water", really, I think this is the best cover version ever... Anyway I was wonderin if Paul and Johnny ever met/performed together etc etc. Couldn´t find anything while browsing youtube. Does anybody know?

 | Miriam as far as I know they never performed together but as to whether they ever met they may well have done but I cannot remember ever reading about it. |

Paul Simon´s best discussions are about music. They see him at his most animated. He talks about the version of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" on Johnny Cash´s final album. "It´s one of the treasured versions of it for me, as you could tell he wasn´t going to make another album. He was worried; he didn´t feel his voice was up to it. But for me, the fragility of his voice brings something extremely powerful." |

| By the way Johnny Cash played the murderer (main character) in the Columbo episode "Swan Song" from 1974. I like it. |

And Klausi, interesting trivia, didn´t know about that Columbo appearance. But I recently saw that episode of "Dr. Quinn" where Johnny played a Cowboy (what else...). God, that series was awful - but nice to see Johnny as an actor :-) As for Paul as a murderer... Hmm, why not... He´s so small and inconspicuous ;-) |

 | I like that episode of Columbo too Klausi. I have it on dvd along with a lot of other Columbo episodes. Because of the musical subject matter though,it´s certainly a favourite:) I night watch it tonight. |
