 | Today I have erased a few 100 pictures.
I decided that nearly every picture which was not taken by a fan and has been made in the last 10 years is too dangerous.
Last year the company getty-images started to send out bills to all websites which use some of their pictures illegal. These bills said: You have used 6 pictures on your website, that costs 9000 Euros. You can now pay 7000 Euros, or we will sue you.
Although no one was ever sued, I do not feel very comfortable.
So please, never upload any new press pictures or pictures from magazines.
I think it is no problem with older pictures form the 60 till the 80´s, as they are really outdated.
Anyway, no problem - we have a lot of selfmade pictures too.
Please, if you see any press pictures on this site let me know. I have to erase the link to them.
P.S.
(the pictures I erased are still saved, but not accessible at any way now. I am not sure if they will come back)

 | Hi Bodo,
I´m not sure how important it is for the other fans to have all these pictures saved in the excessive section. I think you should do what is right for this site and for you. You should not take the risk if there is any danger to be sued, we can live without these pictures, after all we can look at them at getty-images or other magazines on the net.
There are so many sources these days to find pictures.

 | Thanks Ans and Lara
Well, I guess you are right. I thought it is nice to have a source with as many as possible pictures, but thats really a risk.
Anyway, we can still have all the private pictures people have made (most of the time they are even more interesting than another press picture from another award ceremony)
I am not sure how dangerous it is to keep the really Old pictures (25-50 years old). Although someone has the copyright on them, there is really not a big chance that he still wants to sell them today.
