 | Paul´s song BOTW will be performed at the 2010 Grammy Awards by Mary Blige & Bocelli. After the Awards it will be available to download and all proceeds will go the American Red Cross, benefiting ongoing earthquake relief efforts in Haiti. It is also 40 years ago that BOTW got a Grammy for Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Song Of The Year.

 | I´m in the UK, and I couldn´t buy it (not that I wanted to), but iTunes directed me to the iTunes US store and I could purchase it there if I wished. Have you tried that? |

 | I listened to it this morning. Not impressed at all. Worst rendition that I´ve ever heard. |

 | I purchased it in the Dutch iTunes store. Typed in Mary J Blige Bocelli and iTunes came up with BOTW and another song they did together.
The first time I listened to it at Youtube it sounded a bit strange, when I listened to it more than once I got it. It is a beautiful rendition, the music arrangement is very good, it starts classical with Bocelli, when Mary starts singing it goes more soul/jazzy and than it goes into a perfect marriage of classic/soul/pop. The quality of the studio version is better than the live version on Youtube, but the live performance has great emotion.
I can recommend the download and you make at the same time a small contribution to help Haïti.
There is another videoclip at Youtube where they talk about the song, at first I thought there would be no mention of Paul but at the end (a bit quickly as if he almost forgot) David Foster talks about how the genius of Paul Simon lives on with this song.

 | The same for me. At the bigining it has been strange to hear Bridge sung in italian. Then, when Mary J Blige came in and started singing with Bocelli, everything becomes more warm and interesting. He has a very good voice but maybe this song is not perfectly fitting on him alone. |

 | The grammy-show was broadcasted live in Germany (Pro 7) and I saw it the next day.
There was curiously little advertising for the song and the intention of this rendition in the show itself.
Seems they had to decide between Haiti and M. Jackson and Haiti lost.
No comments here in TV and newspapers too. |

 | Hm, I would not say it is bad, but it is not the style of music I like.
It sounds way overproduced to me and uses every klische you need for a orchestra song :)
Well, I do not like orchestra versions...
Interesting is - although Bocellis voice should be much better than AG ones (now at this age), Garfunkel can give it much more emotion in the end and sounds way better. Bocellis just sang a oooooooh for 2 seconds, which can´t be comparer in any way with Arties bright voice.
P.S: What does Mary wear on the top of her hair? Another persons hair? |

 | When I tried to download it from the US store, it redirects me to the Australian store and it isn´t available there.
Is there a video clip up anywhere? |

 | Oh..extensions.. nice..
They look like extraterrestrial-extensions.
ah..again we could talk about Paul and his kind of extensions...but I don´t want to bore Ans with that :-D Just kidding. Let´s talk about baseball caps.
In summer (USA) I started to collect some, but now I´m stucked. It seems to be more an american kind of thing to collect these things.
I was so happy to get a free Atlanta-Braves cap...yeah. But now the dust deposits on it.
