 | Has anyone read this book by Nick Hornby? its about a couples relationship which is dominated by the guys obsession with a has-been 1980s rock star and is very involved with a fan website. It also covers the rock stars opinion of said website and how much it is wrong about his life. Interesting read for those of us with similar obsessions!!
Of course does not relate to this site and its fans:)

A whole other subject. Scaaty, do you know the band Bellowhead, an 11 piece band. I saw them on BBC 4 at Christmas, they sounded great, I bought their music on iTunes, I really like how they bring Old traditional songs back to live.

| Just clicked on their website they sound really good. I´ll keep an ear out for them. Unfortunately British folk groups don´t get too much of an airing on mainstream Irish radio, basically because we have such a strong tradition ourselves.
My bookclub really enjoyed the book, but could n´t relate to this "male" thing about obsessive fan clubs. so I had to sheepishly admit that I was one and that I wasn´t the only female on this fan site.
Then I counter attacked about the "female" obsession with "C" celebs and their relationships, weight and the way they dress etc:) |
