Either it is too cold in my room, or the emotions from the audience at this concert are zero... however, I feel cold now :)

The emotions were in no way zero. I was there, and the audience was extremely responsive. The reception for Paul and S and G was the best of any of the acts. The audience sang along every word.

from listening to an original video recorded on the night I think they have deleted a lot of the original sound from the audience on the television version. i noticed this also on the S and g clips as well. you cannot hear the audience reaction as well on the TV version. i agree with Nancy . the audience reaction was great

Ok, I believe you.

Well, I saw the original youtoube video of Bridge, and there the emotions are high.
But this clip of YCCMA is not thrilling - I mean, Paul is doin wonderfull - but it sounds as if he playes in a empty garden.

The audience reaction was incredible. I have never heard an audience loudly singing every word. It really is too bad that you can´t hear that on the TV version.

I noticed that, too. On some of the audience recording, you get a lot of the atmosphere in the audience and that is totally missing on the official version.

There are some comments on some forums, that they used autotune especially on Garfunkels voice on the HOB version. I can´t tell by listening to the youtube-versions, but I can´t believe that he would need pitch-correction, maybe something that would make his voice sound a little bit fuller (if that is a correct english expression)

that would make sense-I remember thinking that Art sounded lower than his 1960´s sound and a bit raspy-yet my cousin said she had seen the HBO show and they sounded just like they did in the 60s.

Hmm, as everything else also the voice ages when you get older, therefore I can´t imagine they sounded just like they did in the 60s. I hear a considerable difference between the records from the 60s and their voices in later years. There is also a pretty big difference between the live Concert In The Park 1981 DVD and the Old Friends Live on Stage DVD from 2003.

But this doesn´t mean we should not enjoy their latest records and live performances :)

I think Paul´s voice has gotten better with age Artie not so much. However, they sounded great together in MSG.

Paul made it a point to quit smoking and cut way back on the drinking years ago to protect his voice and Art didn´t. I notice a big difference in his voice especially on BOTW but on other songs also. While Paul´s voice shows some age it is nothing like Art´s. The wacky weed is rough on the throat.

Paul took indeed better care of his voice and his voice aged better than Art´s voice. I always liked Paul´s voice better than Art´s. But I always liked lower voices better than high or angelic voices, just a matter of taste. Paul´s voice is more emotive, impressionable. His higher voice has become more vulnerable but is still impressionable. I really Love the way Paul sings Slip Slidin´ Away these days. On the Abbey Road sessions it gives you the shivers. Or his performance at Stevie Wonder´s Gershwin Prize at the White House, it was vulnerable but at the same time subtle and impressionable.

I think it´s very personal in which way a singing voice speaks to you and touches you.

Paul´s voice is very nice, even if he is out of key most of the time.

Sorry its been so long since I posted. I´ve been busy with school work.

I think Paul sounds amazing. This is the man that put together every S&G two-part harmony song. I really doubt he is out of tune. I think the whole songs sounds amazing. Sometimes when a person is accustomed to hearing a song a certain way, it sounds weird to hear it in a different musical interrpretation... maybe that is what sounds out of key - just that he is singing it a different way. He sounds perfect to me.

I once read that Paul always tries to present music in a way that no one has ever heard it before - such as he does in the Graceland or Surprise albums.

Also, about the audience participation, I can definately hear them in parts, but judging by Paul´s performance, he had alot of support that day. It is hard to perform with alot of energy if the audience isn´t backing you up. I can hear it, but also I think that he definately feels a strong and positive vibe from the audience or else he wouldn´t be able to put out so much energy himself.
