 | In the past there were some questions at the forum about the collaboration Paul did with Spanish Harlem Orchestra on the song Late In The Evening in 2007. I just bought it from iTunes in Europe ;-)
In the review at iTunes it´s mentioned as the weakest track of the album United We Swing from SHO. Well, I can´t compare it to the other songs on the album as I only bought this one. One of the techniques I like from these days, that you don´t have to buy the whole album but you still support the artist this way.
For me it is not a weak track, it was very refreshing to hear the song in a spanish/salsa setting. Paul changed a few lyrics a bit, it´s very up tempo, heavy salsa with a big orchestra. Nice to hear the title in Spanish as well in English. The song brings you in a really good mood :)
I can recommend to buy it.
There are some small pictures of Paul and SHO at work at the collaboration on http://www.spanishharlemorchestra.net/

 | Si ! Es la verdad Ans ! Tarde en la noche es muy muy bien !!!
I do not understand either why it was qualified a weak track. Probably because it seems out of context compared to the rest (a little like F&D on Surprise).
I have the entire CD from SHO, and it is worth buying ! |

 | I heard the album too and would say, this track is very different from the others.
So I guess the case is as often when a "pop" musician works with "serious" musicians in Jazz, Classic or "World", it cannot be good.
"Something successful" cannot be Something So Right.
I remember a time in the seventies when one or two guys at parties treated the rest of the gang with "Free Jazz".
Then I turned around and headed home again, that`s were I belonged.
