What gives you the better material?

I don´t think it´s a choice. You´re either one kind of artist or the other.

I write for myself primarily, but I don´t think I could do it any other way. It wouldn´t be good if it were pandering. Paul Simon does not pander. Some people do, and that´s fine.

It helps if you are writing for yourself and you happen like hooks a lot!

Ah Proof, you have an inquisitive and inquiring mind. I also write(songs),and the greater part of what I do,I do for myself. That is partly due to intent, but a greater part is due to the fact that I have the self confidence of a wingless gnat. But I believe any (dare I say it)artist always creates in the hope that someone might enjoy it? If I had an audience of 1 or 1 billion,I would still create regardless,I think. There´s a great line in a Billy Joel song that goes ´What if Nobody finds out who I am´. That´s my big fear...
