Hi folks,

Off topic...is there anyone here who loves/likes Peter Gabriel´s album "Passion" ?

I usually put the CD at least once per year (usually around Easter actually - LOL), which is the usual endurance Proof for a record for me. Most of them end up collecting dust.

Anyhow, I realized this year (and this month) that it is the 20th year of its release. For me, this is simply a masterpiece. Still soulfull and fresh after all these years. Not much tops a great listen of that record with a good stereo system (not with this iPod shit), a good seat and a glass of wine.

I include this in my short list of desert island music, along with, amoung others, Coltrane´s A Love Supreme and...Simon´s Graceland !!

Hi Mog,´Passion´ must have been the followup to 1986´s ´So´ which I like a lot! I have never heard ´Passion´,but I may have to look into that. Now that Mog has opened the door,I´d Love to hear what everyone else´s ´desert island´ album(s) are, apart from Paul Simon´s albums that is. I´m going to make mine Donald Fagen´s 1982 solo debut ´The Nightfly´. As Mog said about ´Passion´,this album deserves to be listened on a high end hi-fi to truly appreciate it´s masterful production, though it does justice to any system. A stunningly beautiful album. Some claim it to be too ´muzaky´,but believe me,they are totally missing the point. Wonderfully evocative lyrics and melodies that´ll tear your heart out.

Like Ian, I really like Peter Gabriel´s album SO and don´t know about Passion (and will look out for it). GRACELAND and SO were the two big albums of that year and Graceland just pipped SO for the album grammy as I recall.

The Peter Gabriel live DVD "Growing Up Live" is a fantastic DVD concert - one of the very best live DVD recordings that I have in my collection.

Yeah...this can be transformed into island music special thread...

I wrote down "The Nightfly". I like to discover new stuff !

As for Passion, it was indeed the follower to SO, but it needs to be said that it is mostly an instrumental record. It was the soundtrack to the movie "Last Temptation of Christ". I saw the movie once, and I found that the score did not work that well into the movie. But as a record, it is simply fantastic.
