 | The setlist for Sydney changed a little.
59th Bridge St Song was dropped at the end, and the order of the encore changed with Sound of Silence starting the first encore rather than Cecelia and Cecelia being the last song.
Also, Me & Julio was dropped and the last of the solo segment was Late In The Evening. Great performance.
With the band he has it is a pity he can´t add Still Crazy (as an extra) to showcase the wonderful talent of Andy Snitzer.
The other change was the second video clip before Mrs Robinson got dropped from this concert.

 | Hi Gerard,as you have seen several performances now,you would be in a position to give an opinion on this-do you think the volume level coming from the PA could have been a raised a little? At Brisbane, whilst the music was supremely mixed, the overall master level was just not Love enough. Actually ´A Hazy Shade Of Winter´ and Paul´s solo set were perfect, but the lower volume on the others I felt lacked that enveloping effect that all engineers strive for. The FOH engineer for this tour actually has a reputation for keeping his mixes down to around 102db´s. I don´t want to sound like I´m nit picking either, because I LOVED the show. I was not feeling well, and my head was congested. Maybe that was it... |

 | Hi Ian,
I thought the intro with the video montage over America instrumental was too low (and much lower than in New York Dec 2003). Sound on second night in Sydney was better than first seemed to be fuller (but maybe that was because seats were just beside soundboard area rather than closer to stage but side on on night one).
The volume on Artie´s vocals seems lower until he gets to his solo segement.
I´m no expert on these things. Maybe they have to keep the volume down because it plays havoc with the hearing aids and pacemakers in the audience :-)

 | lol well there´s a theory!
so, i just got back from the last sydney show - i did end up paying for another platinum ticket and it was a complete last minute decision, i bought it at uni at 5pm for the show at 8pm and went to work in between! It was worth every cent, a spectacular evening where they were in an even better mood than Sunday if that´s possible and hence the concert was full of nice little surprises. Will write a review either tonight or tomorrow. |

 | Thanks Anita and Mireille, I´m glad you liked the review. I´ve just put the one from the last Sydney concert up too.
Yes Mireille, my exam was fine - in fact I got to write about Paul Simon, lol, so in many ways last night was an inspiration rather than a hindrance.
Anita you must be in Melbourne by now - hope you´re enjoying Australia and have a great time at the concerts, can´t wait to hear about them! |

 | what exams are you doing that you can write about Paul Simon? So the concert going was really research, I´m sure you could claim the price of the tickets back on taxes |

 | Great reviews Nikki.
Looking forward to reading Ians as well!
Delighted to read the relationship between the 2 is so good. In the concert I saw Artie was grovelling a lot and Paul was very patronising towards him - they appear to have got over that |

 | Scaaty, the exam was for an english unit on poetry. One of the questions was to promote the status of a contemporary poet, songwriters included, and since the whole course is a joke I decided to be self-indulgent and write about Paul. I know he´s said in the past that he doesn´t consider his own lyrics to be poetry, and I can understand where he´s coming from, but he definitely writes better lyrics than most songwriters.
Anita, I wonder whether Paul and Artie will say or play something in Michael Jackson´s memory tonight. |
