 | Great upload from the Surprise tour -- it´s from an assisted listening device, which is second to only a soundboard recording. It has great emphasis on some of the insturments you would not otherwise hear very well

by the way i´m yet to see anything from the simon and garfunkel tour

 | this does not seem to be from an assisted listening device, based on the posters description or the sound, which has people talking, still its a good post.
I agree that we Paul Simon fans are not too good at taping, any dylan or springsteen show would be up a hour after the show ends! |

 | Perhaps that´s because they´re enjoying the music too much!
I´d Love to tape but I always figure it´d spoil the experience for me (the most important part), messing about with tapes etc... especially since it is always stated that it is prohibited.
I´m more than happy for others to tape & let me download, and I thank them eternally for it, but nothing can beat the live show in my humble opinion. |

 | I agree with you. It´s not the same if you concentrate on filming or taping. I really Love to hear and see clips but I would be too distracted from the concert, when having to think about that.
And as much as I respect Dylan I always wondered about those fans, who have to have every single show and comment on all the talk he did and when he played harmonica on what song. It´s a bit strange for me. |

 | I think in order to get a recording of the current S&G tour we have to wait until they are playing Japan. I can imagine some crazy japanese fans with ear-implanted recording devices...
Seriously, I also think that I would not be able to enjoy a show when i would record it.... But I am so grateful that other people record them and even share their recordings for free. |

 | I have about 80 minutes of the first Brisbane show recorded, plus little snatches of corresponding video as well. Not much use to anyone. The audio/video police were out in force and tapped me on the shoulder to put away my equipment,so I was unable to get Paul´s brilliant solo set:-(You are correct though-it´s a pain trying to record under those conditions, and enjoy the show at the same time. |

 | It´s a tough call... you want the memories to play back over and over but it can be distracting. I personally record very little and when I do I just press the button and never look at the screen again, hoping that my hands won´t be moving the frame out of place! I´ll try to get one or two videos from tonight though. |

 | My thoughts exactly Nikki. When I saw S&G in 1983,I had nothing to remember the gig by-no photos,or recordings. I would Love to come across a recording or photos of any of the 1983 Australian concerts, but in those days, they actually confiscated cameras etc,at the gate of the stadium/venue. I recorded Paul´s 1991 Brisbane concert and the first Brisbane show this time around, but I did not take a great amount of care in the process. I simply pressed record and put it back in my pocket. I didn´t want anything to detract or distract my enjoyment of this event, just something to assist my memory years from now. |
