Paul and Artie seem to be very generous with their time on this tour (or at least they´re being forced to be by the tour promoters) - just announced by the Daily Telegraph, there is a competition to win 4 platinum tickets as well as the chance to meet S&G at the 20th June show in Sydney. Unlike the visaentertainment promotion this one is not a draw - it requires you to write in 25 words or less why you want to meet the pair. Are there any wonderfully creative people here on this forum?

Are you going to send in an entry Nikki?

Yes most definitely! I think it´s an opportunity not to be missed - the competition is only open to NSW residents, and it´s only advertised in a fairly inconspicuous corner of the Daily Telegraph website, so I don´t think many people will notice it. I only found it through a random S&G news search in Google.

So... ideas anyone? 25 words or less on why I want to meet S&G, entries being judged on "literary and creative merit and originality". I´ve been working on some Possibilities but it´s hard!

Oh,now I understand! I attempted maybe 30 times last night to submit my entry, and it kept repeating to put a valid postcode in. As I´m in Queensland,it was never going to work:-( Good luck with your entry,Nikki. I always wonder,if given the opportunity of a 15 minute conversation with Paul-What would I say? What would we talk about? I feel anything I might say would sound hackneyed, trite, fawning,or presumtuous. I would actually be a little terrified of winning. Does that sound strange?

Nikki, I wish you good luck, too. If they need Proof, that you are a "real" fan we can give you a confirmation. Didn´t we help Bodos pet to win a short time ago?

Hopefully beeing a die-hard PS fan does not stop you from getting a chance to win.

Ian, I can relate to that. It must be a strange situation for both sides and I am quite sure, I would find no intelligent words and make a complete fool of myself.

I think this S&G meet and greeting might not be more than a shakehand.

I also do not have a clue what to say...all that things that ´his music is so wonderful´ a.s.o. - he heard that a million times before. Also I think he does not want to hear things like: ´How is your family doin, everything fine´ ;-)

Maybe 2 things:
Ask him if he has finished some new songs, what style they are, and when he will release his next album

And 2nd:
Ask him to release the biggest moment of his career (CP 1991 concert as he just said) on DVD or BlueRay.

Oh, btw - I also did not knew what to say once. When I was backstage, I found it more fun to talk with the band members. Paul has not that aura that says to me: Come and drink a beer with me. You know, he might meet so many friendly and nice people every day, that he keeps his distance.

Thanks guys :) Lol Bodo I´ll keep those questions in mind if I do ever get the chance to meet the man himself.

When and how did you get a backstage tour? Did you write a concert review about it?

Ian I know exactly what you mean. It would actually be quite scary to win. I´d be torn between gushing to Paul and not wanting to seem like a lunatic, and I wouldn´t know what to say to Artie at all.

First concert is TOMORROW!! How exciting. Have fun Gerard and anyone else who will be there. Looking forward to hearing all about it :)

lol.Yes,new webmaster. I wonder if there will be a press conference when they arrive? When Paul toured in 91,he held a big press conference at the Horden Pavillion. He had the band set up too,and he performed Late In The Evening with the full BATRT band. It was an excellent taster for what to expect at those great shows.
