Probably just Paul and Fallon doing each other a favour, due to their having worked together several times on SNL. And of course,to promote the ´Paul Simon and Friends´ DVD. Nothing wrong with that!

I also think it´s a friends favor, together with Steve Martin. Well, the Paul Simon and Friends DVD is great, nothing wrong with promoting that. I got mine a few days ago, great to have it in good quality with all the performances. I really liked the poem from Billy Collins, accompanied by the Dixie Hummingbirds. Just found the lyrics from the poem and have to listen to it again :) I also liked Philip Glass, the credits were a bit disturbing but they have to be seen before the end for commercial reasons...

Spoiler Alert!! - According to the website for the Jimmy Fallon show, Paul will be performing Late In The Evening. Let´s hope he also plays a bit of something new he is writing, as he did in the past on similar talk shows at the time of writing "Citizen of the Planet" and "Still Crazy."

On a related note, Jimmy Fallon was in the front center for the Friday night Beacon Theater show sitting with Rosie O´ Donnell. They were really getting into You Can Call Me Al. Paul even gave a shout out to Rosie in the middle of the show. Jimmy chatted with me and some friends after the show about an experience he had with a Neil Young after-party. Jimmy seems to be a really nice, down-to-earth guy.

It was a really great show not only Paul performed Late In The Evening, but a lot of talk with Steve Martin and Jimmy Fallon. And pre-taped short clip with Steve Martin was so funny in which they played young two guys before simon and garfunkel formed.

Thanks a lot for the info, Paul and Kazoo. I would Love to see the talk and funny clip with Steve Martin. On the site of NBC the shows can be seen (in time this one too I guess). Unfortunately here from the Netherlands we don´t get access to see it.

Same problem here, only people living in US can access the clips.
There is a trick via VPN to see the clips from everywhere, but I don´t know how exactly that works.
I so hope that someone can download and share this clip, would Love to see it.

No unfortunately. I was hoping for a genuine Surprise along those lines, new album or song, but alas. He jammed with Steve Martin,on Martin´s own Bluegrass banjo composition from his new album-sounded great! A very sleek version of ´Late In The Evening´ with the house band ´Roots´. The pre-taped skit was funny too-very SNL.

Funny enough, I can watch some of the clips, but not the whole episode and no clips are up, where you can see Paul. Hopefully somebody can share it with us "outsiders"
