 | Another day,as part of my english conversation class,we had to assume someone famous identity to answer questions.Since my mind was absolutely empty,I chose Paul Simon for myself. And got a pretty hard question:
"Would you prefer to become deaf or dumb?
This is still on my thoughts.
For me,personally, being dumb is...well "less worse".But for a singer/musician ??
I can´t imagine his answer. What to you guys think about??
PS Maybe I should have choosen our president instead - no one will expect great answers from him!Problem is:he doesnt speak English !!

 | Didn´t Paul Simon play ´Pinball Wizard´ with Townshend at some charity event years ago? Hi Jupira, sometimes a choice, isn´t much of a choice at all,but I think if Paul had to make such an odious decision,he´d choose to be dumb. He´s a musician, and as long as he has his fingers (´...thanking the Lord´) and ears,he could still write his songs, just not sing them. |

 | That reminds me of that game we used to play in primary school, where a celebrity´s name is written above your head and you have to ask questions to find out who you are! Lol anyway, yes I think for Paul it would be much better to be dumb (though not for us cos we´d be deprived of his lovely voice) but it would be terrible if he could no longer hear new sounds and music. |

 | I definately agree with Nikki.
It is really an obscure question btw. - who ever thinks about such things? You never ever have the chance to decide about that.
But: If he is dumb, he could still play the guitar and hear it. He could write songs for someone else who will sing - and as he said in interviews before: He does not like his voice that much.
If he still wants to write music, than this is the only way. Otherwise he could not decide if it is good what he sang - and he is a perfectionist.
Whatever, I guess he would decide to be dumb.
Anyway: In both cases I think we will never hear or see him in the public.

 | Hi Paul!!
Thank you for asking, its always great to know people care!!!
Eyes are fine.It means retina attached,NOT normal vision but its the best we can have and I´m happy with.Keep the silicone oil left eye and probably a cataract developing on it - its a "gift" you got after that surgery. It means I will undergone another surgery "dont know when yet" to remove both.
Not a bit anxious for,cos I feel fine the way I´m at this moment,but...
In fact this new surgery scares me most, the first time I had nothing to lose. Also because will be in another place - a public hospital
;-)
Things will be OK,that´s why we have friends to help praying for...
Hugs! |
