Did I miss that DVD 2 years ago? Does someone here already have it? The price is a little bit over the top yeah.

So, is this new?

 | I haven´t heard of it before Bodo, but I´m going to get it,despite the price I think. The version of 59th Street Bridge Song from the Muppets, must be an outtake. wasn´t in the original airing was it? |

 | Ian, so you also understand that this DVD version is different to the TV broadcast?
The Muppet clip was in the broadcast. I do not have the feeling the DVD is different. ... |

 | hm, no ...what I remember this was just the muppets singin the song alone.
Ian, I can not see if there is anything different on this DVD to the televison broadcast. There are only songs missing: the George Harrison part, and the Miriam Makeba song - and I guess that might have been because of the dime rules. (both clips have been released official before) |

 | Kinda weird they´re looking for 100 for the essential Ps and 150 for the lyrics. Is this for a charity - I´d stay clear of it until there is confirmation |

 | Release date is May 2009. So we have to wait a little bit.
But you get it in 5.1 surround sound, so it is really an update to the already circulating copies from the TV broadcast |

 | The Gershwin Show is being presented this year as part of many Public Broadcast System´s (PBS) stations as their annual fundraisers. People pledge amounts for membership and get a gift.Sometimes the stations add some really unique items depending on your pledge. This is our "Educational" tv station in the US strictly supported by foundations and members. |

 | Thanks Bodo, certainly at that price difference I will be waiting till May 9 to get my copy. As you said, having it in 5.1 surround and superior picture quality too,I´d imagine, would make it a worthwhile purchase. |

 | I just preordered, and got lots of warnings that it will play on Region 1 (USA, Canada) players only, and NTSC format equipment, so you will need a modified player and a suitable TV! |

 | I can´t imagine that this will be a region 1,NTSC only release. Wouldn´t it ultimately be available in both formats and various codes, like nearly any other DVD release? |
