I was looking around Youtube just now,and found many videos of Paul in Tokyo[Tokyo Dome?]. These may have been there for some time, but I´ve never seen them before. They are professionally filmed, for tv maybe. Is this the Tokyo Dome show? How many people does the Dome hold, does anyone know? It´s a pity they didn´t make a commercial release out of this either!

Hm, but it is the same show/setlist as in CP... so to release it would not make much sense I guess. And the atmosphere in the park is a hundred times better than in a stadion/dome :)

But, if it is true they are not allowed to release CP 91 on DVD then maybe they should find this footage and see if it is releasable on DVD. Then we would at least have a digital record of this tour.

Why shouldn´t it be allowed for them to release CP91 as a DVD ?
And by the way, Bodo, didn´t you say you have a Laserdisc-rip of CP91 ? If yes, any chance that you can share it with us ?

This Laser disc CP 91 is an official release and still available at ebay or special shops.

As is the concert at the Tower LD 1980 in a quality, which must be much better than the illegal DVD-outputs from VHS-tapes.

Both are NTSC.

The players for those will soon be seen in a technical museum...

Just discovered I still have the Laser disc of tower theatre from 1980. Running time 54 minutes, Don`t want to give it away, friends of mine bought it in New York almost 30 years ago.

Had the CP 91 too, but sent it to a guy in South Germany for conversion who didn`t send it back several years ago.

Well, the re-release of Live at the Tower late last year appears to finally be the genuine article. The copy I bought of Ebay is a real shocker!! Whilst the picture is serviceable enough, the audio is a total mess. It is a dual mono feed of just the left channel of the stereo track! I can hardly hear Eric Gale´s electric guitar playing, and the sound is DULL! Added to this, the picture on the disc itself,is of S&G at Wembley Stadium 1982,sans Artie of course. I´m going to buy a copy of the new release.

Sad, my DVD copie is in mono too. If I knew a realistic way of converting my LD, I would do, but see no chance.

It is with "Ace In The Hole", which sometimes is left out because of lack of time for advertising within one hour...

Nice...article from 1991

What DVD did you buy Ian and Klausi? The one which was released at first time, has stereo and 5.1 DD sound. I have this one. Hm, and I just see that the menu is in spanish. But it sounds okay.

The other copies seem all illegal bootlegs to me. Although you can buy all these items on amazon...

But amazon does not check if you are selling legal stuff I guess. They also advertise for scam companies.

CP 91 I don`t know.

The LD Tower 1980 is by RCA New York, one side color only, and definitely out soon after 1980, because I got it in 1981.

Bodo, i think there´s a sense to make a DVD of Tokyo concert. That is the reason why:
remember that tour was named as Born At The Right Time tour. Remember the lyrics:
...spend those euro dollars all the way from washington to ....
tadam..
TOKYO!

I can make one video file of those 13 tracks, but the quality won´t be great. Let me know if anyone´s interested. I wonder what the other ten songs are.
