According to the following thread on the forums at Art´s website, Art apparently announced at a recent performance in St. Augustine, Florida that he will be doing a concert with Paul on Friday in NYC. I wonder if he will be a special Surprise guest at the Beacon Theater concert?

I am sure this will become a special concert.
Is anyone here going?

Yes, I´ll be there both nights. It seems many other fans that I know are attending.

I so hope that there is going to be a DVD of the show(s). I mean there is still no DVD (announced) of last years tour and as this is a special concert with Artie as a guest, in a newly fixed venue, I can really imagine that they will film the show. May take a while until it´s finally released, as Artie surely wants/needs to do some redubbing in the studio afterwards :o)

The 13th?. Thought Artie might have had the sense of occasion to wait until Valentines Day.

Heh, right, Friday 13th for the next Simon and Garfunkel reunion. Oh the irony...

What is the possibility, do you think, of this being recorded for DVD/Bluray release?

If Art is playing and it is being performed over two nights to allow for an edit of the best bits of each show?

We will see whether Paul wears the same clothes on both shows... Hopefully not the mustard-shirt again :o)
I am sure that people who are attending the shows will report here whether Paul was wearing the same clothes and, of course, whether there were cameras.

Art has 2 solo concerts 0n 12 and 14 February in Florida, if he is a special guest he has to travel between his two concerts and will only be at the Beacon at February 13th probably for a brief performance.

A new DVD would be great - although I do not understand how this idea came to your mind now. There are absolutely no signs.

Last year I had a short contact with the Producer of the BAM performances, and he said they are trying to record or film something... but in the end nothing happened. So I wonder who stops all these things? :-(

They haven´t even gotten around to doing a proper DVD release of ´Concert In The Park´. I don´t understand why? If they did a 5.1 remix, cleaned up the print, and had some excellent extras,it would be a big seller. Even a ´bare bones´ release would surely be snapped up by most people on this forum, for example, and by most fans worldwide I´m sure! Bodo,I can´t remember if you have already posted, but what was the last thing you were told,as regards the petition etc. Did it have any effect on the powers that be,who make these decisions. In this case, Warner Home Video,I presume?

Yeah...the 1991 Concert In The Park remains a mystery as why it is not in DVD already. I mean...they even put out the Old 1980 Tower Theater Concert...

As for the DVD for upcoming concerts, I agree with Bodo.

And we were already spoiled in 2006 with the FM broadcast of Tower Theater Concert and the BBC 1-hour special. The YTO DVD catch up with Simon´s most recent material up to YTO. S&G ? We had the boring 2004 Old Friends DVD. So, I do not see the need wuite frankly. Sorry.
