 | Im wondering which divorce Paul was actually best writing about.His divorce from Peggy Harper, Carrie Fisher, or the slightly different "divorce" from Art Garfunkel.
Peggy was as much a muse as the others, and Paul was still writing about her as far on as 1982, when she inspired the lyrical beginning, to what many think his best song, Train In The Distance.
So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright and Only Living Boy in New York are really farewell letters to his partnership with Artie. Whilst if you look at the lyrics to Song For The Asking, they are the petition for divorce.
