Would show Paul Simon as number one everywhere...

But in fact "The Essential" entered the charts now in several European countries such as Denmark No. 29 first week, Holland No. 26 after 40 second week and seems to be available worldwide now.

Great news about Denmark Klausi...
I´ve tried to find the DVD edition here too, but so far it doesn´t seem like it´s available. Has anybody found the DVD edition in stores anywhere?

There is a Dutch Paul Simon website now, mainly to promote The Essential, it has a short quiz to win a Essential cd/dvd, see acties.

I just have an Old newspaper before me with the album charts of February 21, 1987.

While "Graceland" was in the British charts since 24 weeks, already three times platinum and changing between positions 1 and 2, it had arrived only at No. 13 the week in the US.

The Grammies in March gave it a boost lasting well into the 90`s.

Worlwide sales in Feb. 87 were only "over 4 million" copies, ending up at about 15 million.

It was the best selling CD for a long time - it was the time when Vinyl and CD were "fighting".

All stars selling strongly during or before that time had sold a lot of CD`s afterwards as replacement for already existing albums.

S&G`s Greatest Hits has outsold BOTW that way, compilations were demanded to save money.
