| If they would be fair the should give us something valuable - a live album from the latest tour, or at least the CP91 concert on DVD
not 33 Old songs and 3 live versions of the same songs.
I also hope for the video - I wonder what it might be. (Maybe all video clips?...someone can have dreams) |

| Bodo, what do you need a live album from the Surprise tour for? The Phila concert is of offical release quality. There is also an awsome offical release calibar concert out there from the YTO tour (which had a much better setlist).
The only reason for this compilation release is because of money. If paul really wants to cash in, he ought reunite w/ artie for a new album.

 | My thoughts are: there will be a tour in Europe (and possibly America).
On June 27 the Gershwin-Show is broadcasted. Two days earlier this compilation, hopefully with something new worth buying.
It will sell better with a tour. |

And I don´t think that the Phila concert has an excellent quality (well, everyone has other expectations on quality)
I downloaded 4 different streams from dime.
1. The compressed internet stream, which got banned later because of its lousy and loosy sound.
2. The Radio broadcast, which was aired in extreme compressed dynamic range (thats the US system I learned..?) - songs like Cecilia or Boy in the Bubble sound awful, only silent songs sound good.
3. A bootleged version
4. The mix of the bootleged version with the radio broadcast to repair the dynamic range...well :-
All versions are not really good, by far not compareable to a official release.
The best thing you could get was the BBC4 DVD - sadly it is only half of the show they aired.
The YTO DVD is now 7 years Old!! I think it is time for another live DVD...not the 4th ´compilation´ release in the same time periode.

| Im as sceptical as Bodo is about this new compilation:Will it differ markedly from the way the "Essential Simon and Garfunkel" was presented? There is rare stuff in the vaults, if only they would show some initiative. I would rather wait the five to six years, for Pauls next masterpiece, than be fobbed off yet again. |

| The capacity of the Warner theatre next week ist 2.000 people, in the capitol (Washington), paying several hundreds of Dollars per ticket (and of course a lot of "stars" paying nothing...)
They expect Simon to perform, and I think with a band.
Almost five weeks to polish and air the show.
Let us see.
"Thelma", "Ten years", "Father and Daughter" came quite unexpectedly.
A compilation with no new song, no tour and no hit-song since Graceland would be a waste of time indeed. |
