Hi guys!

I´m new around here. I´m a huge S&G fan and am searching for lyrics to S&G songs in Paul´s handwriting.

Someone told me that the book ´Songs of Paul Simon´ published in the 70s contains handwritten lyrics.

Does anyone here have a copy of that book? If so, would you mind checking whether it contains handwritten lyrics (either complete or part) of ´The Only Living Boy In New York´, ´Kathy´s Song´ or ´America´?

I´m trying to find out before I buy it.

Thanks so much!

By the way, I think that "Still Crazy After All These Years" and his name are handwritten by him on the album.

Do you have or anyone have the tuning info for the 1970 version of The Boxer.
Thanks

Hi Dave, apart from drop D tuning I think the only alternate tunings Paul has used is to tune down a half tone,or even a full tone (The Late Great Johnny Ace for example). If You are referring to the studio version of The Boxer, the intro lick does indeed use an alternate tuning, but is not played by Paul himself but by Fred Carter Jr I believe. Try checking out Brad Priddy´s website. I think it is called Brad´s Guitar Page? The last time I looked((admittedly a fair time ago),he had some useful info about Paul tuning habits. Good Luck!

The Live At The Tower DVD has some handwritten lyrics on it as part of the bonus features.

I have that book. I bought it at Shirmer´s (sp?) in New York City in the 70´s. You can get a used one for a few US dollars. They are so cheap at this website that I may order one to replace my Old one. If you have problems with the shipping, I can send you one. Good luck. The photographs are great.

Also there are handwriting examples on the cover of Studio Recordings (Box Set). Are you going to attempt to read Pauls future, with all this written evidence? If so, will you let us know when the next album will be due.

Also there are some hand written lyrics featured in the BBC documentary "Paul Simon Solo" 1988 and the Official PS website.....no idea if this counts in this case but it is interesting in any event.
