 | Hi everyone,The Late Great Johnny Ace from Central Park is a thrilling moment. You can see Paul visibly shaking until at least the end of the song. That guy said ´Paul,I´ve got to talk to you´ or something to that effect didn´t he? Obsessive fan yeah? Maybe He is monitoring this discussion as we speak,er,type. Doo Doo Doo Doo(Twilight Zone theme) |

 | I´m sure I read that Paul was truly shaken, and who wouldn´t be? I also think, Lara and Ian, Paul did say that he heard the guy saying he needed to talk to him. Shame his timing was so poor, mid-song, in front of half a million people!! |

 | Jocke, you must Love to pose the near impossible to answer.
For Old Friends I think I have to say At The Zoo because I love the way they transform it into a medley with Baby Driver. Also great as its Paul who makes the mistake this time around and he just laughs. A wonderful human moment. Its also a reminder that the spokesman of the alienated can and does know how to have fun.
I also love The Only Living Boy In New York, I revisited this recently after Paul sang it on his Surprise tour. Brilliant.

 | Talking about the Old Friends DVD... I still wonder why the intro to El Condor Pasa (I mean the few notes on the mandoline before the drums start) are completely out of sync (compared to the rythm of the song afterwards).
I like the performance of Cecilia the most on this DVD I guess... very groovy ! |

 | I actually was impressed with the whole set.Their voices are amazingly strong throughout the Old Friends discs and I really enjoy the arrangments which more often than not are similar to the studio versions compared to the equally memorable versions on the Central Park album. Mrs Robinson,The Only Living Boy In New York,America...Oh man, don´t make me choose? Speaking of Old Friends,,my copy of the DVD has glorious 5.1 channel sound, but the vision is a little less than glorious compared to the pristine video on the YTO Paris DVD. Is this the case elsewhere in the world? Does not interfere with my enjoyment, just curious... |
