I´m going to make a short review of the Olympia Concert in Paris on the English forum then...

Even though I might not be really objective, I thought the concert was awesome. I really had a blast because Artie sang mostly Simon and Garfunkel songs.

Cecilia and Mrs Robinson were just great, and the audience seemed to enjoy it a lot. The drum solo on Cecilia was amazing.

Artie tried to speak french, and the really nice thing was that he explained many things about the songs he chose for the concert. He told us about the little stories that we all like about the songs, how he wrote it, why he likes it, why he chose it. He talked quite a lot about Paul as well.

I can only say 2 negative things:first, it is true that Artie´s voice is not as clear as it used to be... Second, the concert lasted ONLY 1 hour and a half!

Other than that, everything was awesome!

"How he wrote it?" Is AG claiming to have written any of the S&G songs? I hope not.

Hi Søren! I´m a danish fan, like yourself: Is there any chance that Paul will come to Denmark, too?

No, he told us how he wrote 6 of the songs on his new album... how he started to become a songwriter, those kind of things. Don´t worry, he even said that he admired Paul for the deepness and the beauty of his words! He never said he wrote S&G songs! lol

That is also not correct, the songs on his new album are all standard songs written in the early days by Johnny Mercer, George Gershwin, Harold Arlen, and Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Well, I was at the concert too in Portalen in Greve Denmark, just outside Copenhagen, and when he spoke of the songs he had made it was from his previous album "Everything Waits to be Noticed" (which by the way is a great album, and much better than his newest imo!)He even read some of his poetry to us from his book as a "pre-lude" to "A Perfect Moment" which is a beautiful song. A really good concert all in all, but of course we missed Paul. Please someone make a fuzz if he comes to Denmark. Right!?

When do we think offical dates will be announced? In comparison, when were the dates for last summer´s tour set?

Jon I don´t know where in America you are but I´ve just seen that Paul is playing the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC on 28th May. Not quite what you were asking but still an opportunity.

Thanks, Beerbelly I did not know that. It´s about a six hours drive from me, but with school being out it´s possible.

I think you have the date wrong. Paul will perform at the Warner Theatre on 23th May. But it´s for the Gershwin Prize, I don´t think there are tickets available, it´s for invited guests only. See the news section.

You are quite right. My sincere apologies for getting any hopes up, especially Jon. I keep saying I should get my eyes tested and this proves it.
