I thought it was one of the best reviews written about his cd, though I think he may have misinterpreted Paul´s meaning of; "You cannot walk with the holy if you´re just a halfway decent man." lyric in Wartime Prayers. I don´t think Paul meant it in the context the gentleman claims, then again, like all good song lyrics, it´s all up to the individual´s interpretation of it.

It´s interesting how much more understanding there is when a little time has past anser attention has been paid.

Thank you for posting this interesting review.

I agree with Callista that the reviewer totally missed the meaning of the line from Wartime Prayers. Not just a rebuke of Bush. The fact is that all these political "leaders" (from Bin Laden to Bush to Blair, and on and) all seem to claim that they have an inside track with rightousness. None of them behave in a particularly spiritual manner, nor do they ask their followers to behave with genuine morality. At least that´s what that line says to me.

I also disagree with the reviewer on Outrageous. I think Paul is voicing criticism at the people affluent enough to obsess about their looks as they grow Old but turning a blind eye to the outrages surrounding them (like the food in the public schools). This song touches me more and more each time I hear it.

Interesting article, and I am touched by the history of the writer - being glad to have lived long enough to hear this album. sobering...
