 | It´s SO BAD, BUT SO BAD, so vulgar, that I can´t understand how a musician that created a Graceland, a ROTS... and so recently a so big SURPRISE, can think in working with a person that in 2007 is still singing/making this kind of music. Now I understand why Garfunkel solo, in concert, sings S&G tunes for almost 30 years... He has really NOTHING new to give to music. |

 | I think he´s wondering why someone like Paul (most talented in his business) after such musical gems and master works would even consider returning to work with Art. This has probably been prompted by a recent release by Art which will once more add to his long, dry years. |

 | Ah right, now I understood it... I thought that she meant "why can´t Paul, who made such wonderful albums, work again with Art to help him a little bit"

 | It´s exactly that! I heard last AG CD - Some Enchanted Evening - and it is very difficult to understand how a musician like Paul could ever worked (and even recently) with a so basic one like Garfunkel. |

 | No Bodo, you understood wrong. I meant it makes me very angry thinking in the possibility that PS can do anything with AG, that alone is REALLY NOTHING to music!!! |

 | Isn´t his new CD just with songs of Berlin and Gershwin (or something like that?). I read about it in the Bahn MOBIL newspaper today. They claim he had a PhD anyway :o |

 | I agreee with MariaMito .....for ONE thing: Art GArfy alone is a calamity . he has really nothing in common with a creator.everything I heard from him alone is really ´soup´.
BUT, BUT, BUT....what He did with Mr S. is REALLY great and NOBODY can say that he isn´t a great artist ! NOBODY ! but he probalbly doesn´t know how to be well bordered (is my english correct ?)´cause when he´s well driven (by Paul) what he can do is ok.....No ?
but I agree, he´s like a cock, a rooster in a poultry-yard !

 | Not quite, Johnny (but "something like that", yes :-) ). All songs are definate classics (amongst them both Gershwin and Berlin songs). I think the judgement laid out here is a little harsh and certainly very one-sided. I was never a AG fan myself, never took any interest in his career, and the solo stuff I have come across never apealed to me. Still, the statements about this record and his music in general stated here, I prefer to reserve for other "artist".
For a slightly more detailed and in-dept review of the new record (though not very positive either) read here:

 | I think artie have done very much for the music. and art´s voice is one of the best in the whole world, in my apinion. when art work with paul they created a wounderful sound what become a successful time, and it still is. Paul Simon and art garfunkel is the best musician ever. |

 | I could like if art write own songs again. not just everything waits to be noticed. |

 | He didn´t really write the songs, you know - only the lyrics (for some of the songs) - on that album (Everything Waits to be Noticed). But I agree that it brings something else to a solo artists album when he contributes to the song writing. And from what I hear that is one of the best AG solo albums as well. Then again, it DOES have a lot of value in its own right to give vocal interpretations of other peoples work. AG has done it well, of course (IMO) especially in the S&G days, and most of the Old soul masters never wrote anything (or very little) of their material themselfes. Just think of Otis Reading, Wilson Picket and my own personal favourite Solomon Burke. All have they contributed with amazingly great records - but not as songwriters... |

 | Yes Thierry. glade you think that too. paul created the beautiful songs, art did moste of the Harmonies. and paul too, special paul´s guitar playing. soo they both did the great sound of Simon And garfunkel. |
