I bought a few things from Amazon and have had only one bad experience.
I purchased The Paul Simon special on vhs from someone in Germany. He said it was in great working order, but when it arrived, it was unwatchable. The whole tape was screwed up so I ended up throwing it out. I took the $15.00 loss.
Look, whenever you buy used, you take a risk whether it be ebay or Amazon. Just be sure to check things out as much as you can before buying anything.
For the most part, I think it´s worth the risk because sometimes these are the only places you can get some of those rare or out of print items.
Whatever you choose, good luck!

I thought on amazon (also marketplace) you have full buyers safety programme?

However - a VHS tape from Germany, that means it was in PAL and not NTSC I guess? Could that be the problem Callista....

In Germany it is called "amazon A-Z garantie" (Amazon A-Z guarantee)

I also bought a few things on the marketplace - most are from other companies which sell it cheaper, sometimes I bought used books.

Take a look at the sellers feedback.

I too think its worth the risk...especially for the rarer stuff. And sometimes you can get it pretty cheaply :) I´ve ordered from both amazon and ebay, and have had no problems so far.

I have bought a lot of stuff on Amazon.co.uk from other sellers. I especially recommend "the book depository" (uk), they are always much cheaper than Amazon, it´s brand new, and they ship very fast! I only had ONE bad experience, I think with a seller from Switzerland, that had the PS box set for sale for something like 30 euros(!). After a while they realized that it was "out of stuck", but they returned my money, and in a way I knew that the price was too good to be true, anyway... :)

Seren, do they ship things to Brazil? There´s any "additional tax " ? I´m asking this because I never bought things on line and I remember that Quinlan Road-Lorenna Mckennit label(great, by the way) used to get this small "safe Tax" for places they believe can get some problem.I never bought CDs by mail from they ,just from a national seller, but they have a great service...
