 | According to this
http://itcamefromculturecity.blogspot.com/2006/12/ gig-gudie-monday-december-26th-december.html
there is an interview from Annie Nightingale with Paul Simon this week on BBC6. I can´t find something on their site, maybe someone who is familiar with that channel can help.

 | I thought it was when I saw the tittle. It´s Old...over 10 years old. It was orignally on Radio 1 when when he toured with ROTS. The Ann Nightingale part must have been added and I don´t mean her interview with Paul.
I haven´t listened to the whole thing, but what I imagine is that they´ve added Ann...How cheeky of them. This implies that it´s new... |

 | It´s part of a series, where they bring documentations from their archive - so they don´t say it´s new.
I have heard about this series before and now it´s a chance to hear it - I think it is a very good documentary with lot of people being interviewed and share their view. |

 | If this series is the one i think it is , then i urge anyone who can, to take advantage of the Listen Again facility. Particularly chapter 1 which has some great footage of the Five to Ten sessions. |

 | Yeah, quite disappointing to see that it ends at ROTS.
It is fun to see that Simon appears to be less modest at the time compared to nowadays. The man was at the summit of his success as a solo artist.
Also, the part about CP81 is quite bitchy ! Garfunkel has a point though: why so many Simon solo songs at the CP concert and only one from Garfunkel´s repertoire ?! |

 | You can´t expect Paul to sing AG solo songs...;-)
AFAIK there were more PS songs because it was first meant to be a Paul Simon concert but Paul was not very comfortable with the idea of a solo concert after the disappointment of One Trick Pony and invited AG to join him, the intention was first that Paul would start with his solo songs and then together with AG for some S&G songs, but Paul was also not very comfortable with this idea, he thought it would be better if AG joined him from the beginning and so it became a reunion concert where AG joined on Paul´s solo songs as well. They never should have done the tour afterwards, that was a big mistake.
BTW thanks for your article Mog about the lightning, nice to see the pictures of Paul and the band on the site of martin.com, one of them with Jerry Douglas, not very close but that´s understandable, it´s more about the lightning. |
