 | hey how exactly do dvd releases work? cos if there isn´t demand for something to be on dvd then it won´t ever be right? or are there special companies lurking around whose objective is to try and make as many vhs´s into dvds as possible? |

Might be on demand, but I am sure that 10-15 emails from fans on this site are not enough...
They do know very good who and what sells good at which time - and the demand on Paul Simon is not high...if nothing happens then the next big re-releases will be around Paul Simons death... :-(
I think the releases in the last years (Tower Theater DVD, Songbook CD) did not sell that much. That also might be the reason why the Tower Theater DVD was produced so cheap...like an early 90´s DVD - and the price is incredible low for those items. |

 | Yes,and another official release which seems to have disappeared, and would not mind seeing on DVD, is The Paul Simon Special from 1977. I recall some great footage here, with Pauls humour well to the fore especially with chuck grodin and lilly tomalin. |

I tried to sell my own copy for 2500 US$ now on amazon (thats the maximum price they allow) - but you need an US-address to be accepted as a seller... :-(

 | I think the tower DVD 1980 was not an official release.
It could not be very expensive to release the Central-Park DVD 1991, because there is an official CD and an official Laser Disc(!). So there wouldn`t be much work on sound and pictures.
Special 1978, Born At The Right Time 1993, Gospel-session 1987 or the Omnibus-Special of 1988 would be more difficult. |

| I think IF they do it, then it should be done perfect, and not in a minute with a medium quality result.
A CP91 DVD should include ALL songs (some tracks are missing on the VHS, even more on the Laser Disc), some backstage material, interviews...
Maybe we should start some online petitions and send them to Warner and Paul Simons office. |

| The Born At The Right Time doc is shown every now and then on the Performance channel here in the UK, I´ll try to keep an eye out for it and record it to DVD next time it´s on. |
