 | I´ve read so many interviews covering the same ground, trying to cover a broad audience from people who may or may not be a real Paul Simon fan.
I´m curious, what would the dedicated fans ask in an interview. That´s the point of this thread. What would you ask if you just entered Paul´s trailer after a show (i.e.), and had the chance to say whatever you wanted?

 | Hello Michael
Are you actually working on a interview with Paul Simon?
Well, I am afraid I would not ask any really interesting or charming questions, so I better do not write anything ... :-)
P.S. Ask him why his website is so useless, why they do not forward any news to their fans (except about events which have already been happened), or help their die-hard fans to get good tickets, see Paul at intimitate shows, why does he play seated arenas when he asks his fans later to stand up and dance, why did he not promote Surprise in any other countries than USA and UK? Why is the guy in the Outrageous video always filming the girls boobs (will we ever see that video on TV?). And finally - how often per week is Art Garfunkel calling for another S&G tour? [every interview should end with a S&G-reunion question] :-)

 | I had a dream where I met him and asked him all these dumb questions I already knew the answers to..."what did the mama see?" "will you and Art do another reunion tour?" and, "when you and Art broke up, it must have been hard, losing the songwriter..." oy. I woke up really mad at myself! |

 | It´s a really good question Michael and yet one of the hardest to answer...lol
So many have been asked over the years, to try and think of something new and interesting, and not look like a dump fan is difficult...lol
Here´s a dumb question....Do you think, given their parentage, it´s going to be difficult for your kids in the future?
Or...
If you could start again with your life, would you do anything differently? And if so, why? |

 | I also had a dream about meeting him. He gave me garlic bread with his e-mail on it. Very helpful. He came up to about my shoulder. |

A "dump" fan, huh, Micky? Still irate - angry - upset - discouraged - disheartened -disturbed by the lack of the Grammy nomination, eh? :)
(Why is it I enjoy nagging you so much? I guess because it´s so fun. Hope you know I´m just playing!) |

 | I always wonder what Paul would do when he walks down a street on a sunny day and he passes a street musician who is playing one of Pauls songs. Would he listen to the performance ? Would he talk to the musician ? Would he take the guitar and sing as well ?
Also, I would ask Paul to comment his official webpage and if he would be so kind to announce a tour properly in the future, so that fans know when they must buy tickets. |

 | You have to be very brave Kuno to ask him such questions...;-) especially when you first ask for his autograph.
When I had the chance to talk to him in Glasgow this year I thought about what question I should ask him, and thought this would be the only chance to draw his attention to the scrapbook the fans made for him for his 65th birthday. We had a nice little conversation about it and he promised me to look into it. |

 | You lucky moo Ans...When Silvia waited for him, outside of NEC, he was too tired to talk to anyone. But he did wave to us all as he passed by in his car...Would Love to have spoken to him.
I still wonder if he ever got my leter...Going by how reliable our Royal Mail is...*she laughs quietly to herself*...I wouldn´t be surprised if he never saw it, because it never arrived. |

 | @Kuno
Your first question has been already answered. He talked about traveling somewhere in Southamerica - wide away from the western civilisation. And then he met some street musicians, and (if I remember right) they played Me and Julio (and not the obvious El Condor Pasa) . He joined them on singin - but he never told them who he is, and they did not know Paul Simon. Very strange situation this must have been.
So the answer is, he enjoys it very much to hear people singin his own songs. |

 | Ans,
Funny you should bring up your conversation with PS again and the scrapbook. I finally communicated with the person who served as my contact and she informed me that the package should have been delivered to someone on his tour. (Not specific info, I know, but... I´ll go with whatever information I am given.)
I then sent 2 letters to request either an acknowledgment that PS received the binder of greetings or a statement that he did not. I sent one letter to PS´s management in California and one letter to PS´s office in New York. I mentioned the conversation he had with you in Glasgow and stated more specifics about where and when he should have received it (as he asked you during your conversation). I mentioned that I am not looking for anything other than verification that he had received the package as there was now uncertainty in my mind as to whether he did. I enclosed a self-addressed postcard for a reply. Naturally, if I receive a response, I´ll communicate that via this forum. I acknowledged in my letter that the birthday wishes were now no longer timely, but I still feel the sentiments of the letters are timeless. But, ... patience. I´m sure my letters probably haven´t even left my state yet. I just put them in the mail box the other day. |
