 | I just got the VHS of the 1991 Central Park concert and noticed that LORNE MICHAELS was named "executive producer" I just saw the Iconoclasts show and learned they are friends and found it interesting he actually produced the 1991 video of the central park concert.
I guess they are good friends.
It sure would be cool if Simon would do another Central Park concert. The quality was amazing; so many great musicians. |

| Yes, Paul and Lorne have been friends since 1975. They met when Lorne asked him to host the second ever episode of Saturday Night Live. Since that time, Paul has appeared on SNL about 15 times over the past 30 years. Lorne also produced the Simon and Garfunkel Concert in Central Park and produced and wrote on the 1977 Paul Simon special for NBC. They are close friends and were even neighbors for a time, living in the same apartment building in NYC. |
