Herbie Hancock performs tonight in Lisbon, and I´ll go to the concert. Unfortunately Paul will be not there to perform «I Do It For Your Love».

Possibly...

Will Herbie Hancock perform any songs from his latest album?

Still don´t know the setlist. But I don´t think, because it´s him only with his quartet... But, we never know... Maybe there is a «Possibility» :)

Great, great night with Herbie. Great performances, from him and his musicians: Matt Garrison (bass), Richie Barshay (drums) and Lionel Loneke (guitar) - a name to pay attention.
He played different versions (in pure jazz)of 3 songs that figures in «Possibilities»: Stitched Up, When Love Comes to Town and I Just Called to Say I love you.
When he talked to the audience explaning the project of Possibilities he didn´t mention Paul Simon. He said something like «everybody had great fun recording the songs, I think Christina Aguilera, Sting, Annie Lennox had great fun doing that...». Then he also mentioned John Mayer when introducing the performance of «Stitched Up»
Great night!

Stitched up is one of my favourites since I have this CD. Great night!

When you say pure jazz, does that mean no one was singin?

BTW.: Did anyone ever buy this ´making of´ Possibiliets (I think that was released on DVD, wasn´t it?)

Yes, but as far as I know Paul Simon doesn´t figure on the DVD, so I haven´t bought it. I only have the CD.
«Stitched Up» was «jazz vocaly» perform by the bassist of the band, but a little bit different from John Mayer´s vocals.
And by the way... the audience was also great. All the artists recognize this about portuguese audiences. So, I´m sure that if Paul was making his concert here, everybody was dancing giving the pleasure to the artist. This is the way people have to show pleasure. This happened when I saw first time PS, in 1991, here in Lisbon, performing to 50 000 persons. The best concert I have seen until today. Much, much better than Ols Friends Tour, that I saw in Amsterdam.

There is a section on the DVD with Paul. I have the DVD, and it is interesting to watch.

Is it longer than the one, that was once posted on the offical Paul Simon Site?

I don´t know how long the other one was. It shows Herbie talking about how Paul came a day early and and offered to work with the rhythm section. It shows Paul talking with the musicians and Herbie playing part of the song.
