 | This is from the Art Garfunkel entry on Wikipedia...
"Following disappointing sales of his 1981 album Scissors Cut, Garfunkel reunited with Paul Simon for the famous concert in Central Park. They next worked on a new studio album together, but Garfunkel left the project, not agreeing with Simon´s lyrics." |

 | Which wiki is this from - and did you correct it, Bodo? I just read the entry here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Garfunkel
And it is even more hillarious. Look at the part about Art writing all lyrics and musig of the early S&G hits! Too funny!
"Following disappointing sales of his 1981 album Scissors Cut, Garfunkel reunited with Paul Simon for the famous concert in Central Park. They next worked on a new studio album together, but Garfunkel left the project. Garfunkel, who wrote all the lyrics and music for the early Simon and Garfunkel hits could not agree on Simon´s attempt to write the lyrics. Simon released the album as a solo project and it flopped."
Right underneath it says the following:
"In 2003, Garfunkel made his debut as a songwriter on his well-received Everything Waits to Be Noticed album."
Quite the contradiction... Wiki is certainly not always no be trusted :-) |

 | ...no Soren, that why I said I could not resist... ;-) It was me telling the ´real truth´ now :-)
Wikipedia should not be taken as a serious facts site. Our professor just remindet us of that - the articles there are only written by pseude-scientists (or fans).
(BTW, read a little bit more about the 2003 tour, Pauls financial desaster and Art Garfunkel made his debut on songwriting in 2003.... under the influence of marijuana :-) (thats the difference to his other ´songwritting on all of the S&G songs) :-) |

 | ha, Cajungirl already made her changes.
So here is my version:
In 2003, he was asked again by Paul Simon to reunit for a Simon and Garfunkel tour trough the U.S. to help his friend out of a financial desaster (Simon lost all his money on the Broadway flop ´The Capeman´). The tour went on till 2004 until Garfunkel decided to record some new material and end the partnership, which was always a big balast for his own succesful solo career.
and
Although his name had appeared in songwriting credits for all of Simon and Garfunkel´s material, ´´Everything Waits to Be Noticed´´ is recognized as his first true effort at songwriting under the influence of marijuana, save his teenage years with Paul Simon in Tom and Jerry.
and the main part
Following disappointing sales of his 1981 album ´´Scissors Cut´´, Garfunkel reunited with Paul Simon for the famous [[The Concert in Central Park|concert in Central Park]]. They next worked on a new studio album together, but Garfunkel left the project. Garfunkel, who wrote all the lyrics and music for the early Simon and Garfunkel hits could not agree on Simon´s attempt to write the lyrics. Simon released the album as a solo project and it flopped.
I think no one should deny the truth...this article should be placed again on wikipedia :-) |
