Matthew, Julie, Chris, Peter, Petra, Klausi, and all your friends and family members (did I forget someone now?) - it was really great to meet you at this show, hope to see you soon at another show, next spring in Hungary and Austria :-)


I´ll upload some pictures later (although mine are not reall good...and I think Klausi will not allow that picture if I show it to him before :-) [oh yes, and thanks for the hangover... I hope you still could enjoy the city today?]

BTW, I have filmed wartime prayers, wanted to watch it this morning, but I still was too drunk - hit the delete button by accident... :-(

One of the best things about attending all these concerts has been meeting up with like minded people from here and the news group. I now consider you all family....

Thats so true Julie. You know, in general the concerts are all the same (with some changes in the setlist and band..but since 1999 it is always nearly the same), but what I will remember later about a concert is which people I have meet there and talked too.

I could restore the video. Anyway, it is not complete, I missed the start of the song, and when it came to the end 5 seconds before the last note my camera said it is full.
This camera does not use any compression when recording a video, so at the moment this 3:30 clip is 370 MB big...

Hi all, though you didn´t mention me, Bodo ( :-( ), I just wanted to say that it was very nice meeting you too :-). I was there with my girlfriend and to friends, but none of them are nearly as enthusiastic Paul Simon fans as I am, so it was great standing next to you in that front line! BTW, I very much agree with your "review" in the other thread. Great concert, but the period from after we were told to sit down and untill we got up again, I felt very frustrated and uneasy. Anyway, once we got up there again, it was truly amazing! Glad you finally got your phone back - you seemed a little worried about that ;-)

OOohh, Sorry Soren - where have you gone after the show ended? Thats why I might forgot you first.
That was really cool, we stood together in front row and have never seen each other before - and then you asked if I am Bodo.
Well, I was more worried ´after´ the show that I will not get my cellphone, they security guy was so unfriendly, and there was nearly no chance to talk to one of the roadies on stage.


I never thought that Paul will say we have to sit down. When we stood up for the first time I had a very long discussion with another security guy who urged us to sit down. I told him a few times that Paul wants us to dance, and he will also say that. And I somehow could make him believe that (we stood in the side corridor and it looked like as if we were allowed to stay and dance there now)
And when Paul said something nearly everyone around me (also native english speakers) understood that we should dance, so we again stormed into the first row - but he said exact the opposite. It took me about a minute to realize what he really said, couldn´t believe it.... and I was more than confused about Paul.

I hope if he comes again it will be summer and he is doing some outdoor concerts. For seated concerts I think I will only visit such shows in the future in Italy, there the crowd and security seemd (to me) more relaxed. London is a dangerous place these days. (also Munich was nice in 2002)

Hi Bodo. The thing was, that I had to get back to my friends and girlfriend quite quickly. Our plane from Denmark had been delayed, so we had to go directly from Stansted Airport to the Arena (in a taxi - getting stuck in traffic, ariving at the Arena at 8 o clock just in time for picking up the tickets at the box office. At 19.45 we were in the taxi going absolutely nowhere on some London ring road. Needless to say, I was a mess!!!!). So after the concert we had to hurry to check in at our hostel, ´cause they expected us to check in at around 7 o clock.

I had seen a picture of you on this site, so I was pretty sure it was you :-) Standing there, right in front of Paul Simon for that long was really amazing, and I´m glad I got to meet you. We will have to take time to talk some other time :-)

I understand Soren - I thought too that I will be in a hurry if I fly on the same day, so I flew 1 day earlier (I am glad that I did so, because on Saturday I had such a hangover that I wouldn´t have done anything for the whole day in London :-) )

Hi Bodo, thank you for the meeting and that great photo of my nephew and me! No problem if you upload it, but I guess there are more interesting subjects...

All of us four liked it, my niece was at Robbie Williams last time, so it wasn`t really a big deal for Paul to match him.

Hi Bodo, I´ve really apreciated your report about the concert, funny in some way and very disappointing in other way.
I suppose it´s really difficult to stay sit hearing Cecilia and so on , I can immage your mood in that moment.
Anyway : great voice and great sound after 6 month of tour! That´s sound good, also wanting to dream about a spring summer second part of Surprise tour here in Europe again.
Really wonderfull idea to meet other web site fans. I will take a look of the pictures of your meeting if have posted here.
Gerally speaking I´m happy for such a good experience for you. And thank you all for sharing
