Thankyou all, that makes me feel better. I do have some nice pics of the fans who met up before the show.

I´m amazed that he left out wartime prayers, It has now become my favourite song on the Surprise album since the concert. The audience was mesmerised by it, even dearly beloved who is a Paul Simon fan by proxy said that ballady song at the end was amazing and where he was sitting the crowd were also spellbound. But then one positive thing about middle ireland is that they are very anti-war especially the present one and this song goes staight to the core.

And it WAS Armistice/Remembrance Day - I wondered if that was anything to do with it? Then again.....he could have sung ´Armistice Day´ couldn´t he? :-)

The quality of the music and Paul´s voice was second to none.

The audience was just as they always are at his concerts. If you read all the reviews of the US concerts the description of the audience is exactly the same.
Mainly sit for the first half listening to the lyrics - followed by some middle-aged dancing on the earlier songs - so I am sure Paul was not surprised.

He said, about 4 songs in - "Thanks for coming, I am glad to be here" - which I thought was nice.

I don´t know if anyone I met in Birmingham remembers me, but some of you took pictures before the show. Would it be possible to send some of them to me??
